I Am Here... I Am Your Mother!

Everybody is excited about Mother's day!  Because if you think about it, nobody will be here (of course, except for Adam) without a mother...  We all owe our existence to one person who lovingly carried us for 9 months in her tummy - our mommies!

I am a mom myself, and i am excited spending the Mother's day with my daughter and dada.  On my way home, i heard in a radio a song by a local artist (a blind kid who sings like an angel, Fatima Soriano), "I Am Here".  It captured my attention and suddenly cried.  It melted my heart, both because i am a daughter and i am also a mother.

I just thought, Mother's Day is not only for moms - but we have to be reminded that this is our day because of our kid/s.  Let us continue to change the world, one kid at a time, by bringing up our children the right way!

Happy Mother's day to all moms in the world.

I am attaching the video to share with you the song, I am Here.  You can view the full video at:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVSIggtRig8

I AM HERE
(I’M YOUR MOTHER)

I am here I’m your mother
Do not fear I am here
I am here I’m your mother
Do not fear I am here

I am with you when
you wake up in the morning
Through the whole day
until evening comes again
I am here I’m your mother
Do not fear I am near

I am with you in your
work and undertakings
In your journeys
In your joys in your songs
I am here I’m your mother
Do not fear I am near

There’ll be problems
there’ll be pain and persecution
There’ll be trials but
be joyful and be strong
For I am here
I’m your mother
Do not fear I am here

When in danger call my name and I’ll come running
If you fall down hold my hand
I’ll help you stand

I am here I’m your mother
Do not fear I am here
Do not fear I am here

Still Family.. from a distance!

I belong to a BIG family - and still growing...  Some of them are in Canada and most are already in LA and San Francisco.  Because of the distance many of our kids do not know each other.

Oh, but not my daughter and her cousin in Canada - when they were introduced, they kept in touch.  But how can 2 kids, 6 and 9 years old keep in touch.  Not via telephone call nor mails, but on Skype.  Yes, distance did not hinder them to talk about things, introduce friends and play.

They introduce friends who happen to be there when they chat, and they learn a lot because they are worlds apart.  There are questions like:  "How cold is the snow...  Have you done a snow angel?  Why is it that you are wearing boots?  Why is your friend's hair is yellow?  Why don't you speak Tagalog? Why is your dad so tall?  Is it true that your moon is bigger than ours?  Can you come over so we can play here?  Let me see your snow dog", etc. etc..  You can just imagine the endless questions they may have for each other.

It is amazing because they can really 'play' even online.  They play virtual hide and seek (you can just ask yourself, how is that?), truth and dare and there are also sessions for crafts.  They draw and tell stories.  It is really fun to see them! :-)

If kids can do this, why not 'big people'?  Let us not keep distance to those relative from a distance.  With the new technologies, it is really easy to do this - and the good thing, there are some ways that will not cost you anything.  It will just take a little more effort, but i can assure you, it is worth it.  It just made me thinking.. "what kids can teach us"!

Keep in touch! :-)
